Ravindra Jadeja Emerges Top ICC Test Bowler
Indian bowlers continued to rule over the ICC Test Bowler Ranking when Indian spinner Ravindra Jadeja emerged the top ICC Test bowler, replacing his fellow Indian Ravichandran Ashwin for second place in the latest ICC Test Bowler rankings. Jadeja achieved the top Test bowler spot after his phenomenal nine wickets performance in the drawn Third Test Match against Australia in Ranchi in March 2017.
Jadeja, who scalped five for 124 and four for 52 in Ranchi Test, gained seven points after starting the Test joint-top with Ashwin at 892 points. Jadeja is the third Indian bowler after Ashwin and legendary Bishan Singh Bedi to top the ICC Test Bowler list.
In the ICC Test Batsman ranking, Australian skipper Steve Smith continued his rule as the top ICC batsman with 941 points. India’s Cheteshwar Pujara, who scored a magnificent double-century at Ranchi Test, reached a career-best second rank on the ICC Test Batsman Ranking.
